My goal for families sessions is to create relaxed, playful images of you and your little ones. All family sessions are shot before sunset, no exceptions. I know, as a mother myself, shooting late into the day can be tricky with little ones but I keep all my sessions short and fun. Pretty light is always worth adjusting your routine a bit. All basic family sessions are held at local beaches or farms for the most part.
Most of my sessions take place in Seattle or Bainbridge Island. Here are some examples of both:
Seattle Area
I mostly shoot my Seattle sessions at Discovery Park:
Bainbridge Island/Kitsap County
Locations include: Bainbridge Island, Point No Point in Hansville and Other local Kitsap County beaches.
If you want to travel further, just let me know! I offer Mid-Way adventure sessions that aren’t as far as the mountains but still more adventurous than the local park.
Those locations include Whidbey Island, Port Angeles, Cle Elum, Snoqualmie + Port Townsend.

Because my portfolio is based around sunset images, I start all my session (besides the studio) one hour before sunset. I know parents are worried about kiddos up late but we keep it short + fun! 
Yes! After you book, I will send along some styling resources including a few seasonal Pinterest boards and access to my online styling tool.
My process and silly/playful nature is best suited to the under 10 crew. That said, older kiddos are welcome as long as they agree (within their ability) to my No Grumpy Adults Policy – older kids fall within this. Everyone at the session must come ready to play and be snuggly. 
In the family photography world, we all grumble about the same thing. It is NOT the 3 year old who won’t smile or the mid-session tears after a tumble. It is an adult who shows up at the session and clearly does NOT want to be there. After 1,000 sessions, I have just decided that this person is not welcome in front of my lens. I keep my sessions short and fun. That is my promise. Adults promise that they will show up and be playful and snuggly with their kiddos and other adults at the session. Moms- if you are married to someone who cannot STAND photos, just come solo! I, unfortunately, cannot be responsible for trying to bring grumpy adults around to the experience.
