Hurricane Ridge Family Session | Worth the drive

This spot on planet earth is extremely special to me. There have been hours upon hours I’ve spent alone here in these hills. It’s not easy to get to. I know I ask a lot of families to make it here. 

But when you are here, you feel small in the best way. A tiny beating heart in a vast landscape of ancient rock. On one solo hike here, I came around the corner of the trail and stood face to face with a doe. What is better in life than the sweat on the back of your neck after you climbed 500 feet only to find yourself not alone but staring into the beautiful eyes of a young deer? It’s magic, plain and simple. 

She regarded me and went back to foraging. I sat and listened to her and there was literally no other sound. Her and the wind and me. These wild sessions are much for me as my clients. I never saw another person until my clients arrived an hour later and we still saw no one else. 

The trek I’ve found, is always worth it.
