This was my first time exploring this particular part of the Olympic National Park. I was lucky enough to do it with an old friend! When I first moved to Bainbridge Island, the first mama I met was this woman here. At that time she only had two kiddos and was pregnant with her third. Our kiddos went to the same preschool and once I went to have coffee at her house while the kids were in school. She casually mentioned that her husband was also a photographer. I didn’t think much of it until she showed me his jaw-dropping work.
They hired me for a family session a few years ago and I don’t think I have ever been more nervous. Most of the time, clients have really no idea how I am shooting or why I am choosing certain light but I knew that Nick would know and wonder why the heck I was doing what I was doing! Of course, he was not like that at all. The whole family is so sweet!
I have been wanting to shoot in a new to me location for a while and I was so excited that this sweet group was up for the trek. The road up is miles of dirt switchbacks, not for the faint of heart! But we were rewarded with SUCH gorgeous views and wonderful light at the top. If you are interested in booking an Olympic National Park family session, you can book online!
