Every year I underestimate how busy fall will be. I think that nothing can be busier than summer but without fail the difference is that people feel they are up against a deadline, a deadline that is usually the looming Holiday Card mail out date. My clients usually luck out with last-minute session requests because as a mother and a procrastinator, I totally get it. Plus I get to meet so many new families this way!
Eventually, I will figure out a system that works better for my sanity during fall but until then, maybe I will tattoo on my arm “Fall will be super busy, Fiona” and I will learn! I will say, if want to have better weather and a more open schedule, book your holiday card in Summer! 🙂
This lovely crew headed over from Seattle to see fall on Bainbridge Island. It really is a magical time of year here. Our downtown area, Winslow, is covered in brightly colored leaves and shops have all their fall colored pillows and blankets in the windows. You can grab a cup of coffee and walk the streets before your shoot and grab some dinner after. Here are a few of my favorite Bainbridge shops:
Petite & Olsen- lovely clothing & home goods.
Salt House Mercantile- home goods, bakeware and pet supplies.
Magnolias- shoes, scarves & clothing.
Wildernest- My husband’s favorite shop with outdoor clothing and trinkets.
And my favorite coffee shops:
Blackbird Bakery- delicious baked goods, toast & coffee/tea.
Hitchcock Deli- amazing sandwiches, drinks and coffee/tea
I will do another post on my favorite Bainbridge Island Restaurants! The bottom line is that if you are from Seattle, pop over to the island and make a day of your photoshoot! There is a reason this island is a top Seattle tourist destination.
